This is a fun youth ministry game that serves a double purpose: To remind the youth players of things that strengthen or weaken their relationship with God; To have fun as a group of young people who are building their faith in Jesus Christ. Leaders will have blown up about balloons of various colors and shapes. The leaders will write phrases or words that remind players of some of the ways they can be closer to God on half of the balloons. Divide the youth into two teams, and divide the room with tape on the floor. Leaders will throw both the good and the bad balloons equally on each side. If the word or phrase on the balloon is good, players want to hold onto them. After all of the balloons have been tossed out, give the players a couple of minutes to play the game.

Protestant youth ministry In Protestant churches, the term “ministry” often implies the service of an ordained minister or pastor. In youth ministry, however, this is not always the case — a youth ministry leader may be an ordained member of the clergy , an employed lay person , or a volunteer. Titles applied to youth ministry leaders vary widely as well, even within denominations, using terms such as “Youth Minister”, “Youth Pastor”, or simply “Youth Worker”.
Name a few examples of Bible characters who give examples of good, healthy relationships. Can you think of some bad examples of relationships from the Bible? Try looking up Romans 3: What relationship s do the first three commandments address? What relationship s do the last seven commandments address? What does this tell us about the importance of how we treat our relationships with others? Messy Relationships Relationships are complicated, plain and simple.
When Adam and Eve rebelled against God they forever altered the harmonious state of our relationships and brought into our relationships pride, miscommunication, selfishness, resentment and deception. Samson and Delilah God uses some unlikely and often unworthy characters in His story. What were some of the ungodly characteristics that Samson and Delilah displayed? Sunday School Lessons for Youth
Dan Anderson has written a book with his daughter, Jacquelyn, which I believe will be a major asset for parents to use when talking to their daughters about dating. Both are high school teachers in Portland, Oregon. Dan writes from the perspective of both a teacher and a parent, and provides tremendous insights from these two contexts as a Christian man. She tells stories of her girlfriends in high school which are gripping.
As a serious Christian now she is able to reflect on her reactions to her parents and provides tremendous counsel for talking to high school girls. He has observed many disastrous relationships.
Youth studies on relationships better than one youth and dating to include parents in your youth ministry chip knew something would happen, and they were so glad, and then they shook hands with him, and went hurrying ed to anger the LORD God of his fathers.
What should you do to find an answer to this important question? What exactly does God promise about praying? Does God feel our pain? How can I be sure of my salvation? Most Christians believe that salvation cannot be reversed, but how can you be sure that you truly have given your life to Christ and have been saved in the first place? Some people feel that religion needs to be adapted to modern life and needs.
Is this true of Christianity? According to a poll, many Americans assume that when Christians, Jews, Buddhists, and others pray to their god, all are actually praying to the same god, but simply using different names for that deity.

Testimony Worksheet Beginning in January, you get a monthly training event! Yes, that’s an outrageous claim, but isn’t that your number one reason for being in youth ministry? When you are better prepared to teach, minister, and grow spiritually you will reach more teens. When you contact them more regularly and more effectively you will touch more lives. It’s not easy getting a class together week after week. It’s even tougher when you add PowerPoint, class handouts, and follow it up with a small group session.
If you are a student reading this post, you probably have been faced with the frustration of the rules that a youth pastor or leader put on you for dating. I want to post today about “should we allow dating in our student ministry?”.
I say that because I know as many students and parents will read this, there will be about the same number of differing opinions on what dating is, how it should be done, how it should not be done, and where it should lead. I have developed eight discussion starters. No, that joke never gets any laughs. But in the Bible God gives us all the wisdom we need to succeed in life!
The Bible tells us plenty about marriage, relationships, love, humility, sexual integrity, sacrifice, manhood, and womanhood. The Bible helps us know who to listen to and what voices to tune out. The Bible gives us the news of an unshakeable identity that is ours if we believe that Jesus is King, if we believe he died and resurrected for sinners, and if we repent to him for our personal sin. If we have an immovable identity, then no ex-boyfriend can take it and no girlfriend can change it.
A higher identity rules. Ephesians 5 is one of many great places to begin a discussion on this question.

Book of Jude Brad Anderson: Like us, Jude lived in an age which preferred toleration to truth, and regarded all religions as equally valid aspects of the quest for a supreme being. He calls upon his readers to reject the false teachers and to stand up for the true faith.

The debate is nothing new, though it’s been reinvigorated in recent years. Historically, single men predominated. Lately, the pendulum has swung toward marrieds, and some even suggest that singles should not serve as pastors. When I wrote the article, I had served as a single pastor for 19 years—14 as a senior pastor. Over the past three years, something special and wonderful happened to me—I joined the ranks of married pastors.
The beautiful tsunami of parenting has recently crashed into my pastoral ministry as well. Through it all I’ve seen the advantages and struggles of pastoring both as a single and as a married man. I shouldn’t be so surprised, but my experience has followed the analysis Paul gave to the marriage and ministry question in 1 Corinthians 7. I want you to be free from anxieties.
The unmarried man is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to please the Lord. But the married man is anxious about worldly things, how to please his wife, and his interests are divided. And the unmarried or betrothed woman is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to be holy in body and spirit. But the married woman is anxious about worldly things, how to please her husband.
I say this for your own benefit, not to lay any restraint upon you, but to promote good order and to secure your undivided devotion to the Lord.
